Swimming Lessons
- Swimming is definitely a sport for all ages. Allen has worked with children as young as 4 months and adults as old as 80. The techniques Allen uses are progressive so beginners benefit from the most basic techniques while elite level swimmers progress with the most advanced.
- Allen has worked with adults who have had traumatic experiences with the water. To date, he has a 100% success rate in getting these adults into the water and able to propel themselves on their own.
- Allen also works with accomplished competitve swimmers on technique, conditioning and racing strategies.
- Whether you're at one spectrum or the other, or somewhere in between, chances are, Allen will be able to apply the right blend of techniques, teaching skills and experience to help you get in the water and swim.

Ages and Abilities
Techniques
Over the decades, our understanding of how our bodies work in the water, how speed changes our swimming abilities and the techniques we use for swimming has changed. It's difficult for swim programs to adapt to these changes (and another reason to consider private lessons). This is also why just about every facility and instructor has their own swim program. The two most well-known programs are the Red Cross Learn to Swim and the YMCA Swim Program, both of which Allen is trained in.
